The kids nowadays

Frankly speaking, i think the kids nowadays are getting way smarter than the kids during my era.

Last time, when I was still a kid, i remembered I just followed where my parents brought me to. I didn't ask, i didn't grumble. I just followed. Sometimes, I didn't even know where I was. I simply just ran around and had fun while i was there.

The kids nowadays are good. Really good. They make sure they know the place they went. Just in case, they wanna come again. They even know where is the location.

My little cousin is amazing. She kept a namecard of the Hay Dairies she went with her sch a few weeks back. (Hay Dairies is a goat farm located at Lim chu Kang... that's what she told me) The namecard was in her little pink Dora wallet... I was quite shocked to see a namecard in the wallet of a 6 years old gal... So i asked her

Me: Why do you have this namecard in your wallet?
She: This is the goat farm i have been telling you. (She has been calling me everyday at 6 pm to chit chat with me... about her classmates, about her teachers (30 over of them) and the goat farm thing)
Me: Then why are you keeping it?
She: So that when i grow up, i can bring your children to the goat farm... Just like how you always bring me out... (FOr a moment, i was really touched..., Seriously... all these from a 6 years old kid.... but... wait... That must be how she is trying to get me to bring her there...hmmm)
Me: You get everything correct for your spelling first before i bring you there, okie? ANd your spelling is on Tues. So you better start studying for it.
SHe: STill got Monday wat.... Spelling onli... You need so long to study meh?
Me: zai zai.... OUtstanding la...

The next amazing thing she did....

She: Eh ah heng gor gor, do you know how to go??
Me: (Waah,.. trying to look down on me rite?) Of cos I know... ehh.... i got to check.... I can check it online.... You know... internet? I bet you don't know... (hoho... One pt scored)
She: You don't know rite? Let me show you....

There she goes... Her small figure disappeared into her stacks of Toys at one corner of the room... She ran back to me and showed me the latest version of Singapore street directory. Even the edition is newer than mine. Mine is the one I got when i first passed my driving test. 2003.

She: Come.. let me show you where is Hay dairies...
Me: (serious ah... I still remembered that i don't even know how to use the street directory when i first have it) Come.. show me...
She: (diligently flipping to that page where hay dairies is)
Me: (I chop my head if she can find it........)
she: Neh.......... here is it........ nor..... Here lo...

HAy dairies............. Lim chu kang...........

Me: Wah..... (lost for words) eh... How you find this page one?
She: I just flipped lo... very fast one...

She really went to flip page by page till she finds this little house symbol showing Hay Dairies.

I bet this was how she spent her September holiday at home.

The next thing i know... she flipped to another page showing the botanical garden, Singapore Zoo, Sentosa, Mount Faber, East cost park, Pasir Ris park.....

Effort la ... How can I bear to break her heart if I don't bring her there... Now i know why parents spoil their kids...

She is only 6 this year. I am amazed.
